This tutorial give a description of the different properties that can be adjusted in teh Property Grid when editing a report template.

Background Color

Click the arrow to open a drop down list of different background colours. You can shoose between custom, web and system fonts by switching between the tabs.

Borders, Border Width, Border Color

To add a border to an element on the page, select the element (ie. a text box), choose your border colour, the same as you would select a background colour and enter a width.

Please note: If the 'Borders' property is set to "None" then a border will not be displayed. To display a border this setting must be set to something other than "None", for example "All" as shown in the example above.

Font

To change the font that you are using for your text, click on the settings button on the font property, and you will be presented with a window where you can select your font, size, and font style.

If you would like to change the font of text that has already been typed, highlight the text before following these steps.

Foreground Color

The foreground color specifies the colour of the main object inside an element on the page. In most cases this will be the text as shown in the example above.

Formatting Rules

For more information about 'Formatting Rules' please contact us.

Padding

Padding is the distance that the contents of an element is away from the border. The measurements are in pixels and they entered in the following format... 'top, right, bottom, left'. For example above we have given our rich text box the following padding properties... (top = 0px, right = 20px, bottom = 0px, left = 0px).

By clicking '+' and expanding the Padding property, you can also enter the padding properties seperately.

Watermark

With the background is selected you can change the watermark settings. You can use either text or an image for our watermark and can customise it using the options in both the watermark settings window and the drop down menu which is accessed by clicking '+' next to the watermark option.

Page Settings

With the background selected, use the option within Page Settings to switch the orientation of the page between landscape and portrait, adjust the size of the margins, pager size etc.

The margins are in the format of... Top, Right, Bottom, Left. You can adjust them individually by clicking '+'.
