Installation

  • To install BC Manager Building Control Software, you will need to download the installation file by clicking here, or visiting www.buildingcontrolsoftware.co.uk/download in your internet browser, and clicking 'Download latest version'.

  • If you are using a MySql database you will need the MySql Connector version 5.2.5 installed on your computer, and the correct database settings in your account settings.

Configuration

  • BC Manager supports multiple users which can be set up to have different access rights.

  • In this tutorial you will learn about the settings in BC Managers General configuration.

Email Management

  • Use 'Email Management' to pull in emails from an IMAP email account. You can then associate them with a project. For more detailed information about this please see our 'Attach to Record' below.

Reports

  • In this lesson you will learn about generating reports. You can do this from within a project, or generate bulk reports for multiple projects.

  • In this tutorial you will learn how to create your own Report template which you can then use to quickly generate reports for projects at a later date.

  • This tutorial give a description of the different properties that can be adjusted in teh Property Grid when editing a report template.

Enquiries

  • This tutorial will take you through the "Enquiry Details" tab quich you will come accross when adding and editing an enquiry.

  • You can upload files and associate them with your enquiries in the 'Documents' tab.

  • You can keep track of any activity that is related to the enquiry in the 'Activity' tab.

Calendar

  • BC Manager has a built in calendar to keep track of your appointments. The calendar view will show any appointment arranged in projects as well as being able to add appointments directly in the calendar section.

Financials

  • The financials section gives an overview of all invoices, quotes, credit notes and pro-forma surrently in the system.

  • In this tutorial I will teach you how to create a new invoice from the 'Financials' section, please note that creating an invoice in this area will not relate it to a project, to do this you will need to create the invoice from within the project. For more information please see our 'Project Financials' tutorial. The process for creating a new quotation, credit note and pro-forma is exactly the same.
